Scripture presents witchcraft as a work of darkness that opposes the purposes of God. Throughout the Bible, God’s people met opposition that was not only physical or natural, and Scripture repeatedly points believers toward faith in God, prayer, obedience, and confidence in His power.
When a person faces persistent oppression, troubling dreams, unusual fear, repeated obstacles, or circumstances that seem to resist progress, it can become deeply distressing. These experiences should not automatically be taken as proof that a particular person is practising witchcraft. But they can be a reason to seek God earnestly and pray for protection, freedom, wisdom, and victory.
These 50 powerful prayers against witchcraft focus on breaking spiritual oppression, renouncing ungodly covenants, resisting attacks against your family and destiny, and asking God to establish His peace and protection over you. The answer to spiritual opposition is not fear. It is to draw closer to God and stand on His Word. The psalmist declared in Psalm 27:1:
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1
We do not pray from a position of helplessness. We pray knowing that God is our refuge, defender, and source of victory. Before we pray, let us look at what Scripture teaches about this subject.

The Bible’s Teaching on Witchcraft and Divination
The Bible consistently condemns witchcraft, divination, sorcery, and every attempt to seek supernatural power apart from God. These practices are presented as contrary to dependence on the Lord. Deuteronomy 18:10 says:
“There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.” Deuteronomy 18:10
Scripture does not encourage believers to become fascinated with darkness or to search for witches behind every problem. Instead, we are told to turn to God, resist evil, walk in truth, and remain established in faith. James 4:7 gives clear direction:
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

Spiritual Warfare Without Obsession
Spiritual warfare begins with understanding where your confidence belongs. You do not need to identify every possible enemy or interpret every difficulty as witchcraft. Remain rooted in God’s Word and bring your concerns to Him. When you meet persistent spiritual opposition, ask for discernment, protection, deliverance, and wisdom.
Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our battle is not against flesh and blood. This means that spiritual warfare should be approached with spiritual understanding, while still treating people with wisdom, love, and forgiveness. Your responsibility is to stay submitted to God, resist evil, reject every practice that contradicts His Word, and stand in faith.

When Spiritual Opposition Affects Daily Life
The Bible treats occult practices as serious rebellion against God. Even so, it is important not to assume that every problem, sickness, financial difficulty, or delayed opportunity is caused by witchcraft. Prayer should draw you closer to God, not make you suspicious of everyone around you.
When something deeply troubles you, bring it to God and ask for discernment, protection, wisdom, and deliverance. He is able to expose what needs to be exposed and to deal with what needs to be dealt with.
Why You Should Not Live in Fear of Witchcraft
Fear can be more destructive than the thing you are afraid of. A believer who constantly expects an attack can become anxious, suspicious, and spiritually exhausted. God calls you to confidence instead of constant fear. Romans 8:31 says:
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
Keep your focus on God. Pray, stand on Scripture, walk in obedience, and trust Him to deal with what is beyond your understanding.

Steps to Take When You Feel Under Spiritual Attack
- Draw close to God. Pray honestly and let Scripture guide your thoughts.
- Examine your own life. Repent of any sin and reject every involvement with occult practices.
- Forgive. Release those who have offended you.
- Stay in fellowship. Do not isolate yourself. Pray with a pastor or mature believer.
- Use practical wisdom. A medical issue needs medical care, a financial issue needs sound decisions, and a relationship issue may need honest communication and boundaries.
The goal of prayer is not simply to identify an enemy. It is to remain established in God and to walk in the freedom, wisdom, and peace He provides.

30 Powerful Prayers on the Foundation of Your House
Walking in Victory After Prayer
Prayer should not leave you living in fear of the very powers you have prayed against. Your confidence must remain in God. Scripture directs believers toward faith, obedience, wisdom, and a settled trust in the Lord, not constant suspicion of people.
Do not spend your life trying to find who is responsible for every difficulty. Not every setback is witchcraft, and not every troubling dream is evidence of a spiritual attack. Some situations require prayer, while others may require medical attention, wise counsel, financial planning, reconciliation, professional help, or a change of strategy. Your spiritual life should grow stronger through prayer, not more fearful. 2 Timothy 1:7 says:
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
Continue to pray, study the Word, walk in obedience, forgive others, and reject occult practices. When fear rises, return to Scripture. When confusion comes, ask God for wisdom. When opposition appears, remember that your security is in the faithfulness of the God you serve.
